How to Clean Your Vinyl Records Without Overthinking It!

How to Clean Your Vinyl Records Without Overthinking It!

If you’ve been into vinyl for any length of time, you already know: nothing kills the vibe faster than a dusty, crackly record. Dirt, fingerprints, and even the tiniest specks of debris can mess with your sound — and if you’re a sampler or DJ, that noise ends up baked right into your work. After years of digging through crates, sharing records, and spinning them randomly, I’ve found a cleaning setup that keeps my collection in shape without spending a fortune.

My Go-To Cleaning Gear For everyday cleaning, I use the Eveo Record Cleaning Kit. It’s got everything you need in one package:
  • A velvet brush that gently lifts surface dust
  • A soft nylon brush to get deeper into the grooves
  • Turntable stylus gel to keep the needle in top shape
  • A bottle of record cleaning solution to finish the job
It’s my “grab-and-go” kit when I’m prepping records for a DJ set, a sale, or just a Sunday spin. When I want to take it up a notch — especially for records I’m about to sample or resell — I pull out the G2 Record Cleaning Solution. It’s an 8-oz bottle of pure “let’s get that shine back,” and it works perfectly with a microfiber cloth or the velvet brush from my kit.

My Quick Cleaning Routine
  1. Check for loose dust — give the record a gentle once-over with the velvet brush.
  2. Deeper clean — use the nylon brush with a small amount of cleaning solution, brushing in smooth circles along the grooves.
  3. Wipe & dry — with a soft microfiber cloth, remove any remaining solution.
  4. Needle care — dab the stylus into the gel to remove micro-particles that could transfer back to your records.

Why This Works for MeI’ve tried the expensive cleaning machines, and while they’re great, they’re not always necessary. This combo — Eveo kit + G2 solution — keeps my records sounding crisp, my needle lasting longer, and my resell stock looking as good as possible for buyers. Whether you’re just starting your collection or managing hundreds of LPs, a simple, consistent cleaning routine goes a long way. Now drop the needle on the one!
